Go Green tips for kids

The kids are our future.  They learn by example.  Here are a few easy tips for them to learn while we help to save the environment.

When using our dishwasher we can conserve water by scraping off the food rather than rinse the food off the dishes.  When using the dishwasher, fill it up completely before running it.  It uses the same amount of water whether it is half empty or completely full.

When doing laundry, we can save electricity by air drying instead of putting the clothes into the dryer.  Wind is mother nature’s dryer.  This can also be done in the winter by putting clothes on the clothes hanger which can be purchase from many stores.

When cleaning the driveway or walkway, use a broom instead of washing it with a hose.  If you really need to scrub it, rainy days are great for an opportunity to play in the rain and get some cleaning done too.  Kids would love that.

Bottle, can and paper can be reused and made into new thing not just sent to the recycling center.  Keeps their imagination and creativity going.
