Baking Soda can be used for all sorts of cleaning. Counters, dishes, bathroom and even your hair. If baking soda needs an extra abrasive boost for tough cleaning hobs, reach for you saltshaker.
Salt is an excellent abrasive agent that lends a helpful hand when you risk running our of elbow grease. Since it can easily be diluted with water, it can be dused as an effective stain remover when you want a tough job done right but your don’t want to scrub.
Teas and coffee stains on cups get a lift when you sprinkle salt onto a damp sponge and rub. Ir you want to clean a tea or coffee pot, fill either pot to capacity, add 1/4 cup salt, and boil or percolater as normal. In the warmer months, discard this water outside near your garden to help ward off unwanted pests that dislike salt; in the winter, have your chldren wash the insides or your windows with the cooled solution to help prevent frost.
